Guest House and Dendropark "Ernak": Ecotourism and Retreat in Orto-Aryk

There are places you don't visit to "see" - you come to stay. In the valley of the Talas River, the morning begins not with the noise of engines and news, but with the rustling of leaves, the scent of herbs, and the gentle breathing of water. Here, the air feels denser and cleaner - you want not just to breathe it in, but to remember it.

Just eleven kilometers from the city of Talas, in the village of Orto-Aryk, lies one of these places - the dendropark and guesthouse "Ernak." This is not a resort or a tourist complex in the usual sense. It is a living, growing ecosystem - a garden, a home, a forest, and a river, all gathered in one space for those who are tired of rushing and want to feel the earth beneath their feet again.

"Ernak" appeared in 2017 as a private initiative - not as a business project, but as an attempt to create a sustainable, living space on one's own land. Today, it encompasses several hectares of fruit orchard, a preserved floodplain forest, walking trails along the Talas River, and a cozy guesthouse. Unlike many tourist locations in Kyrgyzstan, "Ernak" is not about mountain passes or "wow drone views." This place is about a culture of caring for the land. About a garden as an extension of home. About a journey not into space, but into a state of being.

Here, they grow: more than five varieties of apple trees, quince, apricot, peach, cherry, Arstanbaba walnuts, Bakay-Ata prunes, sea buckthorn, raspberry, blackberry, tayberry, blueberry, almond, and medicinal herbs. This is no longer just a garden - it is a small agro-biological collection of the Talas Valley. A special pride of "Ernak" is jasmine tea with local "tea" herbs, which is served not as a service, but as a sign of hospitality. In this gesture lies the entire philosophy of the place. The project is managed by Arsykan Momuntaeva - the owner, who has undergone professional training in tourism and is part of the "Talas" destination.

A walk through the dendropark is not just a stroll. It is a journey through microclimates, cultures, and seasons. Here you can see how, in one valley, plants coexist that in other places require complex agricultural techniques. This is a good example of how, with the right approach, Talas can be not only a pasture but also a garden valley.

Next to the garden, a section of the Talas floodplain forest has been preserved - a rarity for many regions of Kyrgyzstan. Walking and running trails have been laid out along the Talas River. This is the perfect place for morning walks, meditation, birdwatching, and simply enjoying silence.

Near the dendropark, there is a small guesthouse designed for about 7 people. This intimate space is free from hustle and bustle, crowds, and the feeling of a "hotel." People come here for retreats, creative gatherings, and small seminars for recharging.

In "Ernak," there is a cozy hall for up to 40 people for: seminars, training sessions, meetings of bio-farmers, educational and cultural events, and team-building activities.

A rare format: a working space in a living garden.

Here, botanical excursions are held, introducing visitors to plants, care principles, and medicinal herbs. This is no longer just a vacation, but educational ecotourism, which is just beginning to develop in Kyrgyzstan.

The best time to visit: from late April to October. Spring - flowering, summer - shade and coolness, autumn - harvest and golden floodplain forest.

How to get there: from the city of Talas to the village of Orto-Aryk - about 20–25 minutes by car. The road is easy and suitable for any transport.

Trip format: ideally - with an overnight stay or for a whole day. This is not a place for a "quick 20-minute stop."

What to bring: comfortable clothes for walking, a warm jacket for the evening, a notebook or a book - here, unexpectedly, time appears for reading and thinking.

How to behave: this is a living farm, not an amusement park. Respect the work of people, the plants, and the silence.

How to deepen your experience: arrange a garden tour or participate in an event in advance - this way, the place reveals itself in a completely different way.

In the morning at "Ernak," you can see the owner walking through the garden - caring for the trees, gathering herbs, watering young seedlings. The guesthouse and dendropark "Ernak" is not about "must-see." It is about "must-feel."

This is one of those places where Kyrgyzstan reveals itself not through epic landscapes, but through silence, care for the land, and the feeling that the world can be simple, warm, and real. If you are looking for not just a point on the map, but a space for recharging, meaning, and silence - this is the place for you.
